and a handsome upright piano. The lighting is
done with recessed ceiling lights on a rheostat
for adjustable brightness.
Some other special features of this new addi-
tion are: the centrally heated and air-conditioned
rooms, walls of louvered doored storage space
along the halls that are used for chapter materi-
als, two new bedrooms and an office for the trea-
surer furnished in a modern style, and a refresh-

The chapter is extremely proud of their new
addition. We wish to thank the alumnx who
have helped make this possible. We hope that
any of you who might be in the Tallahassee area
will come and visit us.

new house.
STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION when this picture
was taken, the new Delta Alpha chapter house is
now home for over 50 girls.
Since May 1961, the date of its installation on
the University of New Mexico campus, the Delta
Alphas and the Albuquerque alumnx have
worked to secure a residence house. A lodge
rented from the University served as their meet-
ing place in the meantime. Each class hoped
the new house would be obtained in time for
them to live in-and each time something pre-
vented it. The problem was, of course, finances,
but also land. There was no plot of land any-
where near the university that was available to
lease or purchase. Finally Mr. Hugh Woodward,
Sr., owner of most of the vacant land nearby,
agreed to allow the UNM regents to lease the
land for use by the sorority.
Construction of the house was begun in Feb-
ruary 1965. All that semester and throughout the
summer the girls eagerly "supervised" the build-
ing. Workmen grew to expect two's and three's of
collegians wandering throughout the house, try-
ing to visualize the final results. The men
were tolerant of and very nice to these steady
