Evelyn Webb was born on July 5, 1855, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Webb, pioneer residents of Attala County, Mississippi.
At 18, she was part of the trio from Kosciusko—along with her cousin Anna Boyd and their friend Mary Comfort—at the Lewis School in Oxford who founded Delta Gamma in 1973.
After spending two years at the Lewis School, she married S.L. Dodd, a prominent attorney in Kosciusko, and together they had eight children. Eva Webb Dodd was a charter member of the Twentieth Century Club, where she led its civic work. She also took part in the organization of the Mississippi Federation of Women’s Clubs in 1896 and was a devout member of the Presbyterian Church.
Eva attended most of the Delta Gamma conventions between 1909 and her death on January 28, 1934.
